The board of the National Economic & Development Authority (NEDA) has approved the development of a new national theme park as a PPP project.

Called the New Nayong Pilipino, it will be a cultural theme park under the Department of Tourism and will showcase the various elements of Filipino culture, identities and traditions.

The theme park will be located in Entertainment City, which is within the metro Manila area and has an integrated resort, casinos, shopping malls, restaurants and residential areas. The private sector will be invited to bid under the build-transfer-operate-and-maintain (BTOM) scheme with a 23-year cooperation period, including a three-year construction period.
