ONYX SOLAR TO DEVELOP THE LARGEST PV SKYLIGHT IN THE UNITED STATES
Turner Construction selected the New York-based company to integrate this turnkey solution into new Novartis US headquarters
The project consists of the integration of a 26,500 ft² doubled PV skylight into US headquarters of the pharmaceutical company Novartis, in New Jersey.
It´s a 295 kilowatt-DC base rated power photovoltaic system made of 820 completely customized translucent units to produce clean and free energy thanks to solar power.
In order to award the project, Turner Construction considered previous experience of Onyx Solar in the US, where has already finished projects in California, Pennsylvania or Hawaii.

Onyx Solar interviewed as a global provider of building integrated photovoltaics systems in a growing market
The prestigious magazine interviewed Onyx Solar about the future of the sector in the next years.
"The forecast for 2015 positions BIPV as one of the most interesting solar markets to look at, predicting it will reach 11 gigawatts" pointed out Mr. Diego Cuevas - Onyx Solar USA - about the good perspectives of the sector.
A bright future lies ahead, but a deeper understanding of BIPV is needed in order "to acquire enough knowledge to be able to explain the outstanding advantages to the clients". As the official magazine of the National Glass Association reveals "it should be clearly pointed out that BIPV replaces conventional constructive materials for multifunctional solutions".

For the second consecutive edition, Onyx Solar has participated in the European version of this prestigious international competition that promotes research in the development of efficient houses.
Solar Decathlon brings together 20 proposals from 15 different countries to design and build solar-powered houses that consume as few natural resources as possible.
Onyx Solar participates in the competition with the SMLsystem house, where has been integrated two cutting-edge photovoltaic systems: a PV façade based on CIGS technology and a PV walkable floor (patented by Onyx Solar) that supply electricity to this self-sufficient house.

During the World Tourism Day 2012, integrated photovoltaics has been indicated as one of the measures with more positive impact on sustainability customers' perception.

NEW ENERGETICALLY AUTONOMOUS PROJECT FOR TECH COMPANY BFC
Onyx Solar contributes with its multifunctional solutions to the energy-efficiency of the building
BFC Group - a technological company devoted to biogas production and new applications of it - will build a new energy-efficient building that generates enough renewable energy to be powered exclusively by 'green' sources'.
Onyx Solar, as a partner of the project - will contribute with its multifunctional solutions to provide clean and free energy to the building, plus other energy-efficiency aimed properties such as thermal insulation.
"The Autonomous Office" - as it will be called - is part of an European Programme to promote sustainable development in the EU area and it is one of the most ambitious projects in the old continent. |
